After a brief shutdown caused by a fire, the Mets ä Board pulp mill in Finland has now fully resumed production activities.
On August 19th, a sudden cable fire broke out on a pipeline bridge between a power plant and a water supply company. Fortunately, the fire was quickly and effectively controlled and extinguished. However, the fire inevitably led to power outages in multiple key departments within the pulp mill, forcing the pulp production line to temporarily cease operation.
Fortunately, the fire did not cause any casualties. After emergency repairs and preparations, the pulp mill successfully resumed production on August 23rd. According to a spokesperson for the factory, although production was temporarily interrupted, it did not cause any bottlenecks or delays for Mets ä Board pulp mill to supply pulp to Metzle‘s own FBT factory, or for normal delivery to external customers.
Mets ä Board pulp mill is known for its strong production capacity, with a rolling mill annual capacity of up to 390000 tons of BCTMP (bleached chemical thermal mechanical pulp), which plays a crucial intermediate role in the production of FBT (Gracin paper). In addition, some of the pulp produced by the factory is also used for internal conversion processes, such as supplying it to the grass and trees factory under the Mesa board of directors for further processing. This series of measures not only ensures the continuity and stability of production, but also demonstrates the rapid response capability and efficient management level of Kaskin Pulp Mill in the face of emergencies.
