Generally speaking, the higher the ambient temperature, the stronger the fluidity of the adhesive. Once the fluidity of the glue becomes stronger, it is easy to experience glue overflow.

Due to the different cutting edges and back of the cutting blade, the end face of the adhesive label material already has a certain degree of stickiness when touched by hand during cutting. If it encounters high temperature, the two sides of the adhesive label material are more prone to overflow problems.
Once the adhesive material of the self-adhesive label overflows, it will be very troublesome to handle. Because the overflowing glue will stick to the material in the lower layer, causing the material to fail to unwind and print properly. Therefore, when storing adhesive label materials or stacking unused adhesive label materials together, release paper can be used to separate the two sides of the adhesive label material to avoid the inability to separate rolls due to adhesion. It should be noted that the silicone oil surface of the release paper should be in contact with the end face of the material, and the stacking should not be too high, otherwise it may also cause glue overflow problems.
In addition, before die-cutting and printing on the machine, the adhesive label material can be sprayed with oil-based or neutral release agents on the end face of the material to reduce the residue of glue overflowing from the end face on the rubber roller. If there is a serious overflow of adhesive label material, it needs to be flash treated again before use.
Material deformation
In summer, we often encounter the problem of loose and tight rolls of raw materials. This problem often occurs when the raw materials are stored in the warehouse for a period of time and are taken out for use, and some serious cases may even be unusable. This is because the humidity in the air changes greatly in summer, and the tension of the adhesive material changes after losing or absorbing water, causing the raw material to roll loose or tightly. Some materials, especially thin film adhesive materials, are found to have protruding cores during use, which is also caused by this reason.

Therefore, in summer, it is advisable to maintain the minimum inventory of adhesive materials, reduce inventory cycles, and strengthen warehouse management to achieve "first in, first out". Generally, there will be no significant changes in the arrival of materials within 7-10 days, and the longest should not exceed 15 days. At the same time, the environmental temperature for storing adhesive label materials should be controlled as much as possible at 18-28 ℃, and the humidity should be controlled at 40% -60%. It should be noted that adhesive label materials that have not been processed on the machine should not be opened in advance, and unused adhesive label materials or adhesive label materials that need to be processed in the next process after processing should be sealed and stored in a timely manner.
Die cutting with labels and overflow glue
When die-cutting self-adhesive materials in summer, if the ambient temperature is high, it is easy to have labeling and glue overflow during waste disposal, especially for hot melt adhesive self-adhesive materials. This is because hot melt adhesive has longer wire drawing than water adhesive, and during die-cutting and waste disposal, it always feels like the glue layer has not been completely cut, the wire drawing is obvious, and the glue flows back, resulting in waste labeling and glue overflow problems.
Therefore, when using hot melt adhesive label materials for die-cutting and printing processing in summer, the temperature at the production site should be controlled at around 23 ℃ as much as possible. Waste can be directly discharged after die-cutting, or the number of rollers that the material passes through can be minimized to reduce glue reflux. At the same time, try to use die-cutting knives with special coatings on the surface as much as possible during die-cutting. Especially for low-temperature adhesive and frozen adhesive adhesive label materials, their flowability is particularly strong under high temperature conditions. In general, there will be slight overflow during processing, which requires a high processing environment. If necessary, the adhesive label materials can be frozen before processing.
Label bulging and wrinkling
Usually, after printing, self-adhesive labels are wrapped in plastic bags or heat shrink film for packaging, so that the self-adhesive labels are basically isolated from the external environment. But when summer comes, it often rains, and the air humidity will suddenly increase after the rain. If labels are attached at this time, they are easy to absorb moisture from the air and expand, leading to wrinkles or bulges.
Therefore, when storing finished self-adhesive labels in summer, it is important to pay attention to opening the packaging as much as possible 24 hours before labeling, allowing the label and the object to be placed in the same environment for 24 hours.
