Color mode check
The RGB mode is suitable for the light source colors of electronic displays, with brighter colors, while the CMYK mode is suitable for the tone colors of printed materials, with darker colors. Therefore, before delivery, the design draft must be carefully checked for CMYK mode and confirmed that the color difference is within its acceptable range. Black section inspection
During the printing process, for small areas of text and black elements such as QR codes, it is best to use monochrome black (C0 M0 Y0 K100) to avoid issues such as ghosting and smudging. However, in large-scale black printing, monochrome black may not appear deep enough, so mixing the other three colors (cyan, magenta, yellow) will make the black more intense and full-bodied.
File font check
If too small font size and too thin lines are used, it may be difficult to recognize after printing due to blurry fonts. To ensure the quality of printed materials, it is recommended to use font sizes of 6pt or larger, and ensure that the size of the reversed white font is not less than 10pt. In addition, the thinnest width of lines and strokes should not be less than 0.25pt, while the width of reversed lines should not be less than 0.5pt. This ensures that the printed material is clear and legible, making the content more readable.
Document bleeding check
After any manuscript is printed, it needs to be cut to become a finished product, and cutting errors are inevitable. So in the design process, a 3mm bleed will be added around the finished size to avoid cutting important content or leaving white edges due to cutting errors.
Content and annotation inspection
Before printing, carefully check the text content in the document. The proofreading process of books and publications usually requires three rounds of proofreading and three revisions. Although the requirements for other printed materials may not be as strict, when outputting and producing documents, it is necessary to carefully check the text content for typos, grammar errors, and areas that do not comply with relevant regulatory requirements to ensure the accuracy of the text.
